NAIROBI – Mombasa based sides Coastal Kings and Baobab romped into the National Provincials final after their semi-final wins on Saturday at the Strathmore University Grounds.
In the first game of the day Kings set the pace against Renegades with a 16-11 first quarter lead and went on to win the game 56-42. Anthony Gitau of Kings led all the scorers with 20 points while Charles Arigi had 17 points for the losers.
After trailing 19-26 at the half time break Baobab had to dig deep in the last two quarters to fend off a resilient Mustang and win 63-51 to book a ticket to the finals. Patrick Karuku had 19 points while Omar Bongo had 17 points for Baobab.
The finals will be held tomorrow at 11 am, the winner will advance to the Kenya Basketball Federation Division 2 league this season.
